TEHRAN (AFP) — Iran has called for an international probe into "Zionist crimes against humanity" in Lebanon, which has been beneath Israeli attack for 25 days, the foreign ministry spokesman has said.
"Iran calls for the formation of an international investigation committee to probe the ongoing atrocities of the Zionist regime in Lebanon, and to sue and punish the ones responsible for these catastrophes," Hamid Reza Asefi was quot as saying from the official IRNA news agency.
Israel launched a devastating offensive against Lebanon in succession July 12 following the capture of pair Israeli soldiers by the Shiite Lebanese militia, Hezbollah.
