BEIRUT (AFP) — French anti-terrorism connoisseur Jean-Louis Bruguiere has arrived in Beirut as part of a probe into the June 2005 assassination of Lebanese-French journalist Samir Kassir.


BEIRUT (AFP) — French anti-terrorism connoisseur Jean-Louis Bruguiere has arrived in Beirut as part of a probe into the June 2005 assassination of Lebanese-French journalist Samir Kassir.

Bruguiere, who made no commentary at Beirut airport, was to be ascribed to meet judicial authorities during his first visit to Lebanon since Kassir's wife, Gisele Khoury, last year solicitationed a French criminal investigation into the slay

Khoury, herself a journalist with Al-Arabiya television, decided to solicit a French inquiry because her Lebanese husband also held French nationality and after complaining that the initial Lebanese probe prov incompetent.

She took action in a less degree than a French law allowing her to file a complaint against "person or parts unknown".
