THE HAGUE (AFP) — Dutch Queen Beatrix has tasked outgoing Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende with forming a temporary minority dominion to pave the way for early elections in succession November 22.
Balkenende, whose centre-right administration collapsed last week in a outbreak over immigration, will form a fresh government with his Christian Democrat CDA party and the right-wing VVD
Although the minority administration is awaited to have the support of a majority of parliament because of the backing of several small parties, persons show the opposition Labour PvdA party would win the most votes if elections were held now.
The PvdA would win 44 of the 150 seats in parliament with Balkenende's CDA dropping six seats to 38 and the VVD increasing from 27 to 29 according to a head conducted the day after the dominion stepped down.
