WASHINGTON (AFP) — Enron Corp. has said it had agreed a arrangement with Merrill Lynch under which the Wall road bank will pay the bankrupt bottom group 29.5 million dollars to free from doubt fraud claims.

Enron filed for bankruptcy in 2001 sparking a direction probe of its off-the-books accounting and prosecutions of top executives for fraud. Its former chairman Kenneth Lay, convicted of fraud in May, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack.
